Boerne (pronouced burn-ee), the county seat for Kendall County, is a beautiful small German
heritage town that is conveniently located on IH 10 and just a short drive from San
Antonio. The population of Boerne is approximately 7,500 but increases dramatically during

||Boerne was named in honor of Ludwig Boerne, a German poet. Ironically, he never saw

The old county courthouse is located across the street from the new
courthouse in Boerne. It was built in 1870 and the front section was added to the building
in 1909. This courthouse remains in use today which makes it the second oldest courthouse

Boerne Market Days are held on the second weekend of each month at the
Gazebo in Main Square. The numerous vendor booths, from all over the state of Texas, sell
